My Version
It’s so good to live freely,
Unencumbered by guilt,
To bear no malice to anyone.
When I lived selfishly,
Trying to do it all in my strength,
I collapsed and could not go on,
My strength was not enough,
I really wanted to die,
I thought that would stop the pain.
But, thankfully you kept your eye on me,
Protecting me even when I didn’t know it,
Giving me a new story of hope,
Constructed from love.
I choose to live according to God’s love,
It’s the only trustworthy thing,
That can really make my heart glad.
