The Colour Red

September 23, 2017 by Chris Gribble

The anniversary of my Dad’s death passed recently. The years quickly come and go and life is relentless. But, it’s good to stop and remember the gifts that he gave his family. An anniversary is one of those scratches that show what is felt deeply.

The colour red

Red is the colour of
Anger
Sharp pain
Strong emotions
Lost love
Grief
Feelings
That well up
Suddenly….
Red fades quickly
Until it’s scratched
Exposing a vivid reminder
Of what was felt
The anger
Sharp pain
Strong emotions
Lost love
Grief
Feelings
That well up
Again.

Joining spirit and action; soul and work; heart and calling

Today I am going to start …

Today I am going to start living
As only I can live,
I am going to walk in the bush
Listen lovingly to friends,
Take time to hear the birds sing
Love my wife
Be present for my children,
And, wonder at this precious gift
Of life and dreams and time,
Just today, is all I have,
Today I am going to live.
