Psalm Ninety – Latest Version

October 28, 2018 by Admin

This life offers a fleeting glimpse of eternity,
My view stretching into a beautiful horizon,
From sunrise to sunset and returning again,
There is nothing new in my life,
From the beginning my destiny assured,
A brief heartbeat in Eternity’s rhythm,
But, so much more awaits the loyal heart,
Mine has felt the touch of humility,
Its disappointment knows that healing is a gift,
The scars of that pain markers of what was given.

When life slips away in the tumult of frantic action,
Busily rushing to find new ways of anxiousness,
Busyness covering a multitude of secret sins,
Ambition crushing the poor and celebrating pride,
All of this is reduced to the sum of kindnesses,
That was my only gift that drew from love’s gaze,
My dreams of happiness surrendered to Grace,
Life offered as a sacrifice to wisdom’s reflection.

This morning in this moment longing fills my heart,
God’s soft guiding hand resting on my shoulder,
His gentle nudges leaving me with no doubt,
Of where my life is heading in its brief span,
Success comes in the surprising moments,
When a smile after a considerate word is given,
Courage is found when asked to wait for truth,
Strength comes in the midst of betrayal’s grimace,
Hope is the reward of fixing my eyes on trust.

Psalm Eighty Nine – Latest Version

October 27, 2018 by Admin

Love is eternity’s word for loyal kindness,
It keeps its promises when trust is given,
Remembering and telling me over and over,
I belong to him and his love will never stop,
Nothing found in this life matches God’s love,
True praise comes from a heart that knows love,
Beginning with Eternity’s quiet whisper now,
Finishing this world with a triumphant roar,
My breath taken completely away,
With the gasp of complete and utter wonder.

God’s power is clearly evident in this world,
Powerful people come and go,
Their destructive lives are quickly forgotten,
Order is seen everything that takes breath,
The frightful power of nature’s wrath,
Quiets with a single glance from God.

Heaven help those who choose their own path,
Destruction is always the end for arrogance,
He has met his match when it come to truth,
His twisted lies gather around becoming a noose,
The more talk the closer he is to the final leap,
He gathers his lies like a protective armour,
Insults flow easily from his hate filled tongue,
Forgetting that I am Eternity’s beloved,
Not realising that each arrogant word,
Will be his tale of regret, his reminder of stupidity,

In the meantime I wait for God impatiently,
Wondering when God will act justly,
The long awaited conclusion to promised shelter,
My forever family reaches out with an invitation,
Asking me to join their loving conversation,
That knows how to welcome with open arms,
Seeking out my forgotten voice,
In the midst of every confusion,
My voice seeks out words of praise,
Finding them in the middle of disappointment,
And, when I am celebrating victories.

Psalm Eighty Eight – Latest Version

October 26, 2018 by Admin

When death stared at me with his fiercest gaze,
Throwing out his daily funeral dirge of insults,
I thought failure was my destiny,
My desire to live ebbed away,
And, all hope disappeared,
Washed away in my sobs of painful loss,
The black hole of feeling nothing.
Deaf to laughter’s call to joy,
Contempt glared through the foggy haze,
Vindictive lies opening gaping wounds,
Deep gashes added nothing to my pain.

Nothing was left my life’s scorched earth,
Close friends gave up on me,
My nightly tear filled sleep,
Waking to the stink of failure’s breath,
There was no escaping darkness’s clutches,
Day and night pursued by my regrets,
Rejection’s voice repeating over and over,
“You don’t belong here. Worthless child!”

My humble request is to be heard,
No longer cast aside but called to live,
Death’s dark call to despair,
Is the reminder of where my hope is found,
My heart seeks life’s glimmer of light,
The dark shadows pointing to its source,
Life begins with the call to the salvation,
Conceived by the holy whisper of my Mother’s love,
Creation’s act of loyal kindness spoken to all,
Is heard by his Beloved who listen to his call.

Psalm Eighty Seven – Latest Version

October 25, 2018 by Admin

In the quiet dawn after the storm,
In the midst of desolations,
Is the home where truth finds rest,
There is only one place in this life,
That’s still here after the cowards flee,
Courage is knowing the approval of grace,
Betrayal’s empty promises are lost in hollow echos,
Love’s testimony shouted out to the world.

Hope flows from my deepest knowing,
Surprise found in those who share my love,
Sheltering trust found even by my enemies,
Songs that reach to my unknown tears,
Bringing life and eternity into a beautiful dance,
Music and dance celebrating Eternity’s gifts.

Psalm Eighty Six – Latest Version

October 24, 2018 by Admin

Prayer is my discovery of where life begins,
My most important conversation is with God,
My heart’s cry is to discover all of love’s promise,
Beginning with my words to God,
Trust easily lost with words spoken without truth,
Promises roll glibly off the betrayer’s tongue,
They echo into total nothingness,
Lost in the chasm of brokenness left behind,
It’s when life is at its worst that I cry out,
Happiness is lost with easily forgotten words,
Remembering is the painful reminder of reality,
Regret the betrayer’s only comfort,
I choose to hear God first each day,
Making his words my starting point,
Eternity’s promise is my foundation.

When I am really broken I call out to God,
Easy laughter quickly disappears,
The divided heart will always end in betrayal,
I want to be made whole again,
The violent wrenching that tore me apart,
Restored by the healing mercy of forgiveness,
Weaving a golden thread through my life,
Bringing wholeness under God’s hand.

The hopeless words that demean a pure heart,
Spoken from selfish justification,
Are ended by loving compassion,
That cannot repay betrayal in its measure,
Mercy says stop while guilt seeks to explain,
Shame has endless reasons for failure,
Love brings endless patience faithful to the end.

Psalm Eighty Five – Latest Version

October 23, 2018 by Admin

Forgiveness is the path that led me to blessing,
Foolishness chases the wind – grasping at nothing,
Achieving is all about selfish gains of no real value,
The root of all pain is when I come first,
God is made a small part of my life,
The call of Eternity forgotten,
Replaced by today’s worries.

Restoration is found when just anger is felt,
But, it is restrained by restoring love,
Justice delayed for one more opportunity,
To live again with a holy abandonment,
Leaving all that seeks to despise what is lovely,
When hate seeks out kindness,
And, pays it with shattered trust,
For the self deceived who leave behind loyalty,
Lost blessing will come in due time.

Stopping to listen is the secret to hope,
Peace comes from listening to Eternity’s call,
Eternity’s smile warms my heart,
Beginning from a beautiful act of kindness,
Showing me loyalty in the midst of easy betrayals,
Shouting out the truth of where I belong,
My pilgrim’s rocky path sheltered by trust,
Kissed by the lips of lovingkindness,
Creativity is fully appreciated for its true worth,
Beauty forgotten receives its eternal reward.

Psalm Eighty Four – Latest Version

October 22, 2018 by Admin

My restless sighing,
Leads to a greater unknowing,
Where the loved promise,
Is revealed but not quite yet,
Eternity’s breath whispering,
His constant presence very close,
My home is found in the greatest sacrifice,
When kindness reached out to touch me,
My heart joined with Eternity’s rhythm.,
Sadnesses are shared and hope is celebrated,
Together arm in arm we stand firm.

When my sad story was told,
My lament of broken promises,
My path of disappointment’s darkness,
When nothing seemed to go right,
I found that this was the new beginning,
The scorched earth of my broken life,
Was caressed by the rain’s gentle drops,
The ploughed furrows they created,
Became my wells of fresh hope,
My soul revived to live again,
Each shoot of new life born from love,
Gently nurtured by merciful pruning,

I love my opportunity to pray,
When everything is taken away,
In the stark still moments,
I face my creator and listen to him,
Every gift that comes my way,
Desolation, fear, anxiousness,
Love and kindness and compassion,
Are signs of where I truly belong,

My heart yearns for home,
Where my sighs are heard,
My voice returns with new words,
Loving the song that begins each day.

Psalm Eighty Two – Latest Version

October 21, 2018 by Admin

Heaven help the busy self important person,
Who uses the word friend as a weapon,
What is desired and desperately sought,
Is grasping at satisfying eternity’s call,
While being deaf to love that is humbly offered,
Self declarations of true goodness don’t hold up,
When justice makes the final decision,
Searching beyond what was done,
Finding the heart that belonged to Love,
The day hate is stopped in its tracks,
Will be the day of terror for the self righteous.

Shallow vestiges of earthly beauty are clung to,
But, they are quickly fading as life disappears,
Eternal beauty was lost to meaningless words,
Spoken without truth then quickly forgotten,
Not even knowing the lies that easily said,
Lots of words without wisdom amount to nothing,
Eternity’s promise is lost no longer to be found.

Out of a beautiful care for the voiceless,
Emerges the true loveliness of grace’s face,
Always responding by seeking the merciful path,
Grace is the loving eyes that meet with mine,
The calm voice that isn’t dismayed by loyalty lost,
Compassionately not making her pain another’s burden,
An open heart to the anxious spirit,
Humbled but lifted high forever,

How long will love’s offering be forgotten?
Grace’s heart opened wide to give,
Quickly forgotten with contemptuous self interest,
My heart bears the burden of the forgotten voice,
When hope was quickly crushed by pride,
My tender reed’s cry forgotten easily,
Promises of loyalty broken by shallow excuses.

The reward for broken promises will come soon,
When love’s offering is lost forever,
The lament will be that “I wished I’d listened.
For there was a time when I was also heard”,
Now the forgetful heart lives in poverty,
The most precious love was ignored too long.

Praise’s heart reached out with a song for me,
When love was given foolish explanations,
Using lots of words but little compassion,
In the midst of all what is lost,
A new song began to be sung for me,
One that touched my soul’s heart cry,
And, began to meet the deepest rhythm,
Finding a place where a soft voice can sing,
A tender lullaby is given fresh heart,
When the song that belongs to me,
Is heard by the heart where love begins,
Hearing my song with adoring ears,
Eternal applause will meeting my final bow.

Psalm Eighty – Latest Version

October 19, 2018 by Admin

My nightly tear filled sleep,
Is the reminder of my deepest love,
Given but turned aside for a better offer,
I reach out to God but hear only an empty echo,
The sounds of heartfelt regret shattering silence,
Salt rubbed in through the taunts of justification,
Forgetting that the most painful wound,
Is the one that is the stab in the heart.

Where can I turn when sadness overcomes me?
My life is desolation on desolation.
Broken promises standing on broken promises,
Nothing is sacred, even love’s true beauty,
Is not appreciated for what it’s worth,
Missed in the busyness of life,
Forgotten in the relentless pursuit of more.

I want God to hold me now,
My tears of sadness washing his feet,
I want to have my brow stroked,
With the hand that knows only compassion,
I want to feel like my life matters,
Hearing God’s whisper of approval for his child,
I want to love more deeply,
Forgiving what cannot be undone,
I want to be merciful,
Walking in my Father’s footsteps,
I want to truly belong,
Safe in that place where only kindness is true.

Psalm Seventy Nine – Latest Version

October 18, 2018 by Admin

The beautiful gift given with an open heart,
Grace focussed in the kindest of smiles,
Traded for an instant of earthly approval,
Death comes with the breaking of trust,
Who can count the cost of what is lost?
When a precious life is easily discarded,
That tender reed the most loyal of hearts.

When will God let what is beautiful flower?
The bud of hope retreats from deep loss,
Shame is the answer for all past sins,
When lovingkindness is rejected,
Forgotten in life’s deafening noise,
Desolation the only comfort for a broken heart.

When will your justice show truth in its horror?
The sad choices that are made continue to haunt,
Pain continues even when calling your name,
As each day closes reflecting the darkness inside,
Out of the wreckage of life’s awful path,
Comes the gift of praise from my deepest parts,
What was forgotten has it turn to shine,
Eternity’s praise on all that remains.

Psalm Seventy Seven – Latest Version

October 17, 2018 by Admin

Betrayal’s bitter pill is the reminder of lost trust,
My greatest treasure discarded by disloyalty,
Her painful cry joins with my disappointment,
My sigh of sorrow turns to tear filled sleep,
My heart yearning for a sign of grace,
Lost in the abandonment that fills my thoughts,
Wondering where a true heart can be found.

Where is God when my heart is abandoned?
Alone is the frightening reality that is faced,
Always seeking where trust can be found,
What do you say God to my deepest hurts?
Have you forgotten your most loyal child?
What has she done to deserve this reward?

The bitter taste of rejection’s hard face,
Brings me to the feet of love’s greatest kindness,
Deliver me from the temptation to hate,
Remind me again of your forgiving welcome,
My home is found in the heart of creation,
When hope seems impossible and trust gone,
From the brokenness transformation could shine,
Bringing light to every word that is said,
Led by the hand that wipes every tear,
Worship rises from the humbled heart,
My safety rests in God’s beautiful power,
Led from the chasm of despair’s deepest pain,
Into the promised land calling me home.

Psalm Seventy Six – Latest Version

October 16, 2018 by Admin

Surrender will be the final breath of contempt,
God will be celebrated around the world,
Except for the last gasp of hate from pride,
His weapons are broken by God’s love,
The voice of hope silencing destruction’s scowl,
The final stuttering, of “but”,
Will face the consequences of rejecting love.

I find myself caught in the embrace of heaven,
Protected from the God’s response to evil,
Grace is the beautiful presence of trust,
That is my shelter from pride’s deserved rebuke,
My heart belongs to eternal trust,
My life caught up in his beautiful promise,
Protecting me and my family from trouble,
Even in the midst of desolations,
Fear can’t be used as a weapon any more,
Courage is the gift that belongs to me,
That finds my broken heart and brings healing,
To face the what seeks to threaten hope,
Surrounding my life with an eternal hallelujah.

Time is Eternity’s reminder of who is in charge,
Time is the presence of truth that enlightens,
Time is the choice that only God can make,
Time is my opportunity to find grace,
Time is the enemy of arrogance’s boastful words,
Time is the leveller that shatters pride’s hate,
Time is the beginning of God’s loving presence,
Time stood still when Grace gave hope,
Time belongs to every human life,
Time will end when Eternity reigns forever.

Eternity will fulfill the faithful heart’s desires,
Eternity the place where faithfulness belongs.

Psalm Seventy Four – Latest Version

October 14, 2018 by Admin

The pain of my lonely pilgrim’s path,
That left me wondering if God exists,
Witnessing the daily carnage of lost hope,
Memories of better times kept me alive,
Wondering if life could begin again?
Who am I to question God’s choices?
The least of all floundering in not knowing,
If life could ever be joined with trust again.

My dear enemy’s constant taunts.
Dragging up every bit of pain,
Each barbed comment increasing my agony,
Seething anger burning with every encounter
Everything was about his destruction,
Desecration of the holy gave him joy,
Arrogance shouted his bitter words at God,
Spewing out his foolish justifications,
Deafening noise for his foolish listeners,
Unbelievable when filtered by wisdom,
Not heard by God’s righteous ears.

My descent into silence,
The solitude of driest desert,
Was the place where hope emerged,
Beginning in the quietness of the early morning,
Hope was a word that belonged to me,
A gift when human loyalty had disappeared,
The awakening of life was painfully slow,
Every day I wondered what pain would emerge,
Until healing completed its work in me,
God heart joined with mine,
Life’s source gently taking my hand.
Courage leading me to where life begins again,

Psalm Seventy Three – Latest Version

October 13, 2018 by Admin

Lust is the eternally dissatisfied passion,
That sees only what isn’t mine,
Desiring the achievements of selfishness,
They live life with reckless abandonment,
Gathering in the spoils of greed,
Never facing the consequences of loyalty.

The hater’s kind words are the loyal heart’s trap,
Enticing the faithful into their web of deceit,
Waiting for the chance to pounce on the unwary,
Choosing their words carefully to intimidate,
Thinking that everything bows to his desire,
His single minded pursuit of more and more,
Will end in the eternal poverty, a destitute heart.

God saw exactly what happened in my life,
My flirtations with earth’s pleasures,
They ended with an abrupt stop,
When God began his purifying work,
It started with the dark night,
Ending with a new dawn,
My heartfelt prayers,
Touched heaven’s heart,
My road to ruin,
Was stopped by a brutal jolt,
That woke me from my slumber.

My heart grieved for what I had lost,
The seeking of riches and the pride of wealth,
Humbled by the poverty of losing it all,
Battered by the winds of uncertainty,
Finally brought to Eternity’s safe shelter,
Desire was made subject to truth,
Becoming my passion replacing selfish lusts,
When I falter God is lifting me up,
My heart wakened to the words of salvation,
Again I turned to the life’s truest truths,
Giving me the courage to continue each day,
Never questioning the path given to me,
Celebrating with everyone the work done in me.

Psalm Seventy Two – Latest Version

October 12, 2018 by Admin

I desire a heart that is completely fair,
That is always hearing God’s truth,
I want to always hear the cry of the poor,
To make sure that my comfort doesn’t deafen me,
I am determined to stand up for those who kneel,
To speak for those who have no voice,
I will not cower when contempt lashes out,
My firm stand is hatred’s thorn in the side,
The uncomfortable truth is Love’s sure friend.

I pray that my life will be lived as an example,
Of a heart that is single minded in its love,
I want my legacy to be dedicated to Love’s trust,
True love that doesn’t wander when lust rises up,
This is the love that reaches into eternity,
Speaking with a beautiful voice that is heard by all.

Blessing comes out of faithfulness,
Not the easily won victories that quickly fade,
Out of the despair of the violent opposition,
Will come a lasting peace that stands firm,
Blessing upon blessing is the reward of trust,
Praise is the constant song that comes to me,
I know this begins and ends with God’s word,
Anointing my life with abundance and loyalty,
Everywhere I look I find new ways to praise,
The neverending shout of Eternity’s glory in me.

Psalm Seventy One – Latest Version

October 11, 2018 by Admin

Cruel words are the beginning of a sea of tears,
The evil heart cannot stop the barrage of hate,
My weeping eyes seek a safe haven,
Where I can pour out my loneliness,
Seeking out a kinder voice that understands,
The one who gives acceptance not rejection.

Faith is not a new thing for me,
Every step in my life required trust,
When my mother shared her life with mine,
From that first breath that cried out at birth,
As my life moved into a reckless youth,
Then to the responsibilities of adulthood,
But, these last steps feel like a tightrope walk,
Where my faith is about life or death,
Everyone watching, waiting with bated breath,
Will he succeed or fail? Is their unspoken question.

With everything that I can find I will praise God,
There is nothing that can’t be turned to praise,
Life is about forgiveness not bitterness,
Rescued from my own foolish misplaced trust,
I am found now drinking in life every daily,
Finding a fresh spring of hope that keeps filling up,
My legacy is all about hope that transforms,
Failure that is completely forgiven,
A song that sings about life’s beautiful promise,
Entrusted to me by my Creator’s grace,
Shame belongs to the haters,
I belong to Love’s open embrace.

October 10, 2018 by Admin

My cry for help touched heaven’s heart,
But, first I needed to learn about grace,
To know that salvation’s message,
Is for the tired worn out soul,
Who has felt the pain of rejection,
The loss of a much loved friend,
My sad lament of what is missed,
Wholeness is my yearned for desire,
Yet remains an elusive hope.

Devastation from rejection’s harsh words,
Found their home in shame’s black abyss,
They are my dear enemy’s daily reminder,
Of truth that is obvious to honest eyes,
Salvation’s message is clearly heard,
Unmistakeable in declaring God’s greatness,
Comforting my impoverished soul,
All my pain is held and understood,
By the one who knows my hidden secrets,
Safe in the arms of heaven’s comforter,
Life is transformed by restoring love.

Psalm Sixty-Eight – Latest Version

October 9, 2018 by Admin

Storm clouds on the horizon,
Announce the coming rain,
No surprises, it will arrive in time,
Coming from God’s hand,
That continues to guide,
The world’s path,
From the beginning of time,
And each new day,
Nothing will escape its path.

This storm will bring refreshing rain,
Reviving the tired and weary soul,
Loneliness became my closest friend,
Stopping to take time to listen,
To my sad story of painful loss,
Restlessly seeking my true home.

The desert was where hope was born,
Hopelessness was not the conclusion,
Instead it was the mother of possibility,
Suckling me when my life collapsed,
My fearful view of what lay ahead,
Saw only interminable despair.
Surrounded by hurtful words,
Spewed out from the soul’s darkest corner,
What started with hope was my prison,
Safety came from trusting God totally,
Abandoning all my self constructed security,
Life lived with courageous

Look out! God will not delay his coming,
The voice of praise will shake the world,
The tears shed will find their comfort,
Celebration will be the beloved’s response,
It will shout to the world his love,
The storm’s thunder a whisper in comparison,
His beloved enjoying every single word.
